In 2020, the world needs more creative leaders to solve the world’s problems.

This email is our way of keeping you creatively sharp for the week ahead.

We hope 2020 will be a year of creative maturity for us all.

Play with us: week by week, curriculum by curriculum, season by season.

— Freedom & Balance. An art college for the artist in everyone.

Season One: Feb – April 2020

Curriculum One: Power Play (Feb — Mar 2020)

Exercise One: Today

Exercise 1 of 4: Write a poem about status

POWER PLAY: a high-intensity creative leadership course*

For the next four weeks, create art that helps you reflect over your position as a leader in your everyday life. This curriculum is more about your leadership style than it is about your art-making abilities. Remember, it’s not about how ‘beautiful’ your art looks or sounds, it’s about how true it is.

Before we begin, here’s the college rules:

1. If it’s not Heartwork, it’s not Artwork.

2. The process is the prize.

… Now, let’s play.

Exercise 1 of 4: “STATUS”

Deadline: Thursday 6th Feb 23:00pm

Submission: hello@freedomandbalance.com

As stated in the brief, we do not review work. We believe that’s a self-reflective task for you and your crew to practice. But if you still would like to share your work with us, we would love to see it!

This week’s conversation

Three questions to ask yourself and your crew this week:

  1. How do you personally define status?

  2. What does your relationship with status currently look like?

  3. Who (dead or alive) do you think has a healthy relationship with status that you would like to emulate and why?

We look forward to seeing what you discover.

See you next Friday.
